1. Park on a Level Surface & Turn Off the Engine: Ensure the engine is off and slightly warm for better oil flow.
2. Drain the Old Engine Oil (If Changing Oil Too): Place a drain pan under the oil drain plug, remove the plug, and let the old oil drain completely.
3. Locate the Oil Filter: Refer to your car’s manual if needed. The oil filter is usually near the engine block.
4. Remove the Old Oil Filter: Use an oil filter wrench if it's tight. Be careful, as some oil may still drip out.
5. Prepare the New Oil Filter: Apply a thin layer of fresh oil to the rubber gasket of the new filter. This helps create a proper seal and makes removal easier in
the future.
6. Install the New Oil Filter: Screw it on by hand until snug. Then, tighten it slightly more (usually a ¾ turn). Avoid over-tightening.
7. Refill with Fresh Engine Oil: Pour the recommended engine oil into the oil filler cap. Check your car’s manual for the correct type and amount.
8. Check for Leaks & Oil Level: Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Check for leaks around the filter and oil drain plug.
Use the dipstick to ensure the oil level is correct.
✅ Tip: Always replace the oil filter with every oil change for optimal engine protection.
